John M. Taladay is a Partner in the Government Antitrust practice of Howrey. He specializes in the area of mergers, international transactions and criminal and civil antitrust investigations. He has particularly extensive experience in the media and technology sectors, including television, radio, media measurement, telecommunications, software and pharmaceuticals, and in traditional industries including the automotive, primary metals, agriculture, food, chemicals and electronics sectors.

Mr. Taladay also has counseled US and foreign clients and individuals in more than two dozen antitrust grand jury investigations into allegations of price-fixing, bid-rigging, bribery and false claims. He has also represented clients in numerous confidential civil investigations and has been retained by clients to raise competitive objection to pending mergers, to address violations of consent agreements and to purchase assets to be divested.

Mr. Taladay has been named as one of the "World's Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers" by Expert Guides, as one of "America’s Leading Antitrust Lawyers" by Chambers USA, the International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers and in PLC's "Which Lawyer." Prior to joining Howrey, Mr. Taladay served as International Legal Counsel at the Paris headquarters of Vivendi Universal.

Mr. Taladay has been extremely active in the development of international competition policy. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD Competition Committee and has been appointed as a Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network. He serves on the International Task Force of the ABA Section of Antitrust and as a member of the ICC Competition Committee. Mr. Taladay is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and has held numerous leadership positions within the firm.
