Dave Steuber is Co-Chair of Howrey's Insurance Recovery practice, representing insureds in disputes with their insurers, and an undisputed leader in his field. When critical insurance disputes arise anywhere, insureds consistently look to him for representation.
He is repeatedly named among the premier worldwide insurance recovery practitioners in such guides as Chambers USA's America’s Leading Business Lawyers; Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance & Reinsurance Lawyers; Who’s Who Legal: The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers; and The Best Lawyers in America, where he has been described as "analytically brilliant…emphasiz[ing] common sense and offer[ing] quality service," having "achieved tremendous success" as a "top-tier, first-rate lawyer" and "one of the pioneers in California for insurance recovery work," the "real deal," "highly impressive," an "exceptional coverage attorney used on the most complex of matters," "clearly one of the field’s most eminent practitioners," "a superb and credible trial lawyer that is admired by opponents for his 'good working relationship with insurers,'" and having "fantastic trial expertise and terrific courtroom presence."
He handles bet-your-company matters that are among the most cutting edge, high profile, and dollar-intensive—from the Coordinated Asbestos Insurance Proceeding (reputed to be the largest judicial proceeding ever in California), to seminal environmental coverage matters involving FMC, Southern Pacific, Montgomery Ward, and SoCal Gas, to insurance representation of WorldCom in its bankruptcy proceedings and of the World Trade Center Properties relating to the tragedy of 9/11, to more recent options backdating coverage matters.
"Howrey is simply the best! We handle the most challenging matters for clients who want, demand and deserve the best representation possible. And we enjoy what we do."
