Jeannine Sano’s practice focuses on patent litigation involving various technologies such as microprocessors, chipsets, memory, software, and image sensors, in courts across the country as well as before the United States International Trade Commission. Her trial experience includes first-chairing a bench trial in the Middle District of Florida, second-chairing a jury trial in the Eastern District of Texas, and second-chairing a bench trial in the Northern District of Illinois. She was also part of a trial team that obtained a jury verdict of infringement and validity as to every claim at issue and a damages award of over $130 million in the Northern District of California. She has presented oral argument before the California Court of Appeal and prevailed on an issue of first impression on the Uniform Trade Secrets Act, in addition to obtaining an award of attorney’s fees.

Ms. Sano has been recognized as a "Northern California Super Lawyer" in Intellectual Property Litigation by San Francisco Magazine every year from 2004 to 2009, by Chambers USA in the field of Intellectual Property/Patent in 2007 and 2008, profiled among the "Top 75 Women Litigators" by The Daily Journal in 2007, and ranked as one of the "Best Lawyers in Intellectual Property Litigation" by Bay Area Lawyer Magazine in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 she was selected by Lawdragon to be among the "3000 Leading Lawyers in America," and "500 New Stars, New Worlds," and in 2003 among the "Prominent Alumni of University of California Hastings College of Law," by the Daily Journal, 125 Years of California Law. She has been a frequent guest instructor for the Notre Dame Law School NITA Trial Advocacy program and a judge for the mock trial program at Stanford Law School. Ms. Sano is currently Chair of the Patent Litigation Committee of the ABA IP Law Section and has been selected to serve as an Early Neutral Evaluator for the Northern District of California.
