• Government of Puerto Rico (DACO) v. Texaco, et al.  Prevailed in a (D.P.R.) trial in Federal Court in an action for substantial damages against Texaco and others for an improvidently granted injunction relating to price controls. Judgment for Texaco, et al.; Aff’d by First Circuit.
• Fifth Third Bank v. U.S.  After a 12-year, two-trial battle against the government, Mr. Grimaldi led a trial team in 2006 to a $76 million judgment in a breach of contract case on behalf of a financial institution. (COFC, CAFC)
• Aguilar v. Texaco, et al.  Represented Texaco against a consumer class, consisting of 20 million purchasers of gasoline in California, alleging a conspiracy among all refiners to raise the price of gasoline. Defeated the claim on summary judgment. The decision was affirmed by Supreme Court of California.
• Direx Israel, Ltd. v. Breakthrough Medical Corp.  Obtained reversal of a preliminary injunction on behalf of a client in a trade secrets case in the Fourth Circuit.
• Citizens Federal of Dayton v. Citizens Federal of Miami.  Obtained an injunction against a financial institution to prevent further expansion of its trademark in the Ohio market.
• Flying J. v. Pilot Travel Centers & Travel Centers of America, et al.  Antitrust complaint alleging, inter alia, a group boycott by owners of truck stops against a competitor.
• Philips Electronics v. LG Electronics.  Multiple infringement cases against major manufacturers of video cell phones dealing with JPEG technology.
• The Coca-Cola Company v. Quest International.  Breach of contract case for use of improper beverage ingredients resulting in the recall of a product in Japan. Obtained a favorable settlement after defeating numerous motions.
• Hodosh v. Block Drug Co.  Defended a patent infringement charge for ingredient use in toothpaste for sensitive gums.
• Dagher v. Texaco Inc. & Shell Oil.  Defended an oil company against a charge of price-fixing relating to the Texaco-Shell refining and marketing joint venture. Summary judgment was granted, and was later affirmed by the Supreme Court after Chevron acquired Texaco.
