Diversity Partnerships in the Community
Bar Association Participation and Support Howrey engages in numerous collaborative efforts with community and bar associations by encouraging and supporting our attorneys’ participation and leadership in such organizations, and by contributing significant financial support. Howrey’s minority and women attorneys either hold or have held leadership positions in bar associations, including the Women’s Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Minorities and Women in the Profession, ABA IP Law Section. Howrey’s sponsorships have included the National Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the Women’s Bar Association.
Diversity Summits Howrey hosts diversity summits to further support diversity efforts within the legal profession. Our 2007 summit, “Strategies for Breaking Down the Barriers,” focused on the development of individual and organizational actionable plans for overcoming barriers to diversity and implementing lasting solutions. The previous 2005 summit, “Frank Discussions About Diversity Within the Legal Profession,” brought together individuals and corporations that are known leaders in promoting diversity, as well as those committed to becoming leaders in diversity.
