Counsel Alvaro Ramos (BR) with associates Tricia Mohan (BR) and Francesco Carloni (BR) co-wrote “Evaluating Vertical Mergers Post Non-Horizontal Guidelines: An Economics-Based Approach?,” a paper on vertical mergers that was published in the College of Europe Global Competition Law Centre. It is currently still published as a working paper.

The paper is based on the authors’ experience handling the Nokia/Navteq merger and their understanding of the TomTom/Tele Atlas merger; both were vertical mergers that took place at the same time a year ago immediately after the publication of the Commission guidelines on non-horizontal mergers.
