Senior Associate
Douglas DeWitt is a senior associate in Howrey's Chicago office and a member of the Global Litigation practice group. He practices in all areas of commercial litigation, but focuses primarily on insurance coverage litigation and counseling. Mr. DeWitt has handled a broad variety of insurance coverage disputes involving first-party property, general liability, product liability, construction defects, environmental liability, and directors and officers liability claims. Mr. DeWitt has also counseled clients on a variety of risk management and risk transfer issues.
During law school, Mr. Dewitt served as an extern in the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, for the Honorable Joe Billy McDade (1999-2000). He subsequently clerked in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, for the Honorable Philip P. Simon (2006-2007).
