Jean de Hauteclocque, a Partner in Howrey's Paris office, has over 30 years of experience in dispute resolution, particularly in international arbitration.
Jean has been involved in a broad variety of multijurisdictional and domestic disputes, and his practice includes, in particular, commercial contracts investment, asset tracing and seizure, numerous corporate and regulatory disputes and some specialist fields such as construction, product liability and environmental law.
He has acted as counsel in a large number of arbitral proceedings both ad hoc and for institutions such as ICC, CCIG and NAI. Jean has also been appointed as arbitrator (chairman or panel member) in a number of international arbitration cases.
Prior to joining Howrey in May 2007, Jean had built-up a specialist dispute resolution practice in Paris (SEP Hauteclocque Larroumet).
Representative Highlights
- Retail sector arbitration. Acting in arbitration proceedings for a large French retail company against another major French retail company, for claim of breach of share-purchase agreement (value €160 million).
- Electronics / construction arbitration. Acting in arbitration proceedings for a leading international electronics and systems group against a German construction company, in relation to the alleged supply of defective equipment for the construction of the new Athens airport (value €12 million).
- Mobile telephone industry arbitration. Acting in arbitration proceedings for a Japanese electronics manufacturer against a Swedish electronics manufacturer relating to the interpretation of the scope of a cross license agreement.
