Howrey is serious about our commitment to pro bono work. We believe we have a responsibility to give back to our community and those unable to defend themselves. We support many different initiatives within the firm, and put the full force of our firm behind each engagement.
Howrey attorneys are afforded the opportunity to work on pro bono matters, and the firm treats the hours spent on those cases the same as billable hours. Our attorneys gain much from their pro bono experiences – the ability to work one-on-one with a client whose essential rights, freedom, or basic livelihood is at stake; the chance to advocate on his or her behalf before some of the most esteemed tribunals in the land; valuable experience for their own professional development; and a deeper understanding of the obligation legal professionals have to our communities.
