Ben Davidson is a partner at Howrey LLP specializing in all aspects of intellectual property litigation and related complex litigation and counseling. Mr. Davidson also has considerable experience in unfair competition litigation, as well as a broad range of commercial disputes involving breach of contract, securities, and insurance coverage issues.
Mr. Davidson served as an Examiner in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications involving power regulation and power conversion technology. He has also prepared and prosecuted patent applications and counseled clients regarding allegations of patent infringement.
Mr. Davidson has been recognized in 2005, 2006 and 2007, by Law & Politics magazine as a Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star in the field of Intellectual Property Litigation.
In 2003, Mr. Davidson was named “Advocate of the Year” by Public Counsel for serving as pro bono trial counsel in a political asylum case. Mr. Davidson has served as a deputy prosecutor for the City of Anaheim through the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Trial Advocacy Project. There, he prosecuted a number of criminal matters, including several jury trials through verdict.

- Copyright Litigation Regarding Motion Picture. Represented a studio and well-known actor in copyright infringement litigation relating to a successful motion picture.
- Dispute Regarding Inventor’s Rights to Ophthalmic Patents. Represented inventor of patents relating to ophthalmic surgical implants in a dispute regarding ownership of the patents and royalties.
- Litigation Regarding Exercise Device Patent. Represented owner of patents on abdominal exercise device in a series of lawsuits against national retail chains and infomercial companies that were selling infringing devices.
